Give it a year.

I'm very familiar with New Year Resolutions going to pot so to rid myself of failure I'm going public. Starting on January 1st I plan to get in shape by following a new eating plan (note, not a diet) and a new workout plan by fitness trainer Brandon Carter.
Hopefully I can inspire others to do the same.
Once a week I'll be posting a photo and every now and again, a workout video.

Diets! A FAT LOT OF GOOD

BULGING Brits who are kicking off their new year with a diet will give up after just 15 days, research has warned.

More than a third will end up fatter than before, watching the pounds creep back on 22 days after they quit.

Six out of ten diets end in failure completely but up to 70% of Brits do want to lose weight, according to a survey by weight-loss firm Slimming World.

Shock figures revealed recently that a quarter of us are obese – with a third of those who are overweight admitting it is the “most important issue” in their life.

Even trim celebs such as WAG Coleen Rooney are trying to shift a few pounds following the festive season. The 25-year-old has Tweeted she is starting a detox.

Meanwhile, the Government yesterday launched a new plan to beat the bulge.

GMTV chef Ainsley Harriott is fronting “Supermeals”, with the NHS Change 4 Life campaign and supermarkets Asda, Co-op and Aldi.

The 54-year-old has produced a free book of low-fat recipes for under £5 and filmed cook-along clips for the Change 4 Life website.

Meals promoted include vegetable soup, fish pie and sweet and sour chicken.

Ainsley said: “I’m thrilled to be involved in such a great initiative – and very timely for the New Year.

“Sometimes the thought of making meals from scratch can seem a bit daunting, but I have always tried to assure people that cooking at home can be really quick and easy, and doesn’t need to break the bank.”

The stores involved have promised discounts on the low-fat ingredients.

But Labour branded the project “an advertisement for big business”.

A YouGov poll found more than 10 million overweight people won’t admit they are risking their health.

And five million say they are “ashamed”, “disgusted”, “embarrassed” or “trapped” over their size.
